As part of PERCENT FOR GREEN, I was commissioned by The Point CDC in the South Bronx and the Lincoln Center Resiliency Project to look at resiliency in the Hunts Point community in light of climate change. Hunts Point is in the South Bronx and has been a community I have worked with in regards to projects with youth on climate change and in connection to the 2014 People’s Climate March where I co-organized with grassroots groups in preparation for the march. As a participatory project, I worked with teens from the area generating conversations about the impact of environmental racism in their lives. I created a video collage mimicking the Hollywood trailer format then montaged scenes from Hunts point with found video. The voice over is a poem created and read by one of the teens I worked with Aaliyah Daniels.
