PERFORMANCE > Three-one-one/El Tres-uno-uno

"Three-one-one/El Tres Uno-uno", was done at the Queens Museum. In it, I set up a stand and assisted people in making calls to 311 about environmental complaints they had. During the call I acted as their representative. The calls ranged from addressing garbage to MTA re-connections to the informal economy and building more community centers. This piece was a part of Percent for Green actions.

I assisted local residents and visitors to make 311 calls on-site about neighborhood problems or issues encountered while on their trip to New York (environmental, structural, social, etc.) needing improvement. I set up a small portable stand in the museum and talked to participants. Our conversations varied from subway improvements, neighborhoods needing pubic community spaces, allowing more 24 hour vendors to permitting informal economies such as gypsy cabs in order to fill in the gap that public transport leaves. I then proceeded to call 311 and make the complaint for participants.
