I was selected as a finalist for the Randall Island's public art installation Flow 13/14. I submitted a maquette showing how to gently re-appropriate existing non-soil gardening technology and products to promote their accessibility among working class NYC residents. Drawing inspiration from New Orleans… and thinking about ways to connect the Bronx to other poor urban centers, I proposed using these aeroponic gardening structures and installing circular benches around them. In addition to the sculpture pieces, I proposed to have gardening workshops looking further into immigrant herb use, guerrilla gardening techniques, and sprouting plants from large seeds.
