At the opening of Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts, Art and Law Residency, I re-enacted part of Henry "Box" Brown's journey to freedom. A slave in Virginia, Brown put himself into a box and mailed himself to Philadelphia. This piece is a response to Arizona passing SB 1070 Immigration Law. For four hours I sat in the crate, sewed clothing, and recited the Gettysburg Address.
