SOCIAL SCULPTURE > PERCENT FOR GREEN

Events, notes, documentation, and images developing my upcoming project Percent for Green. The project examines how art can facilitate community coalition to create solutions for environmental progress in underserved areas and promote more discussion on Climate Change. The project's objective is to co-author a bill that protects the environmental rights of people in underserved areas.

This project is a part of "InClimate" conceived by Regina Cornwell, who is also its organizer and curator, and presented in auspices of Franklin Furnace and its founder-director Martha Wilson. InClimate's initiative calls upon artists, with the invaluable assistance of climate change specialists, to find solutions and antidotes to our most cataclysmic problem. "InClimate" is going directly to underserved neighborhoods in each of the five boroughs of New York City—including areas most vulnerable to global warming. The aim is to see the art, together with accompanying events, encourage and embolden community members and their leaders to take action on climate change.
