Revealing New York: The Disappearance of Others
Intervention
2008

An extension to An Autoethnographic Study: The Bronx, I did this piece for Pedestrian, Art in Odd Places, in Manhattan on 14th street between avenues First and A. At the height of food riots in Haiti, as with previous interventions, I tried to sell one pound bags of rice, flour, and beans for $3000, $5000, and $1000. It was reviewed by Hrag Vartanian, a New York-based writer, critic and cultural worker, for The Brooklyn Rail ‘November – Art in Odd Places 2008 “Pedestrian“’ [http://www.brooklynrail.org/2008/11/artseen/pedestrian]Brooklynrail]
