Rice Cake Structure
For this intervention, I asked a local shop owner to show me how to make Dok (rice cake). The work took place in the market at her shop. Some people joined us. It was intimate and public and I felt myself being immersed into a relationship not with the shop owner, but the market as well. Our actions were tradition. I met most of the women shop owners and I listened to them discuss community issues over the making of a staple food.
